That was fascinating. Who hasn't walked or swim or cycled for so long that the only person who is making sense is yourself?

Endurance sports appeal to me, it would be awesome to ride across America or Australia.

Thanks for posting this. I remember from when I ran marathons, there was always a point where everything stopped making sense and the running itself was the only commonality binding it all together.

Great article - and the idea of biking from San Diego to Atlantic City sounds awesome. Of course, it's only awesome without a time limit.

Two or three years ago I was contemplating doing RAAM, although I would have been going with a team rather than solo. I ended up deciding it would take over my life to an unacceptable degree. I think that was the right decision for me, but I cheer for everyone that does it.
