That is nice. I still enjoy watching the odd Bob Ross re-run on TV. I was surprised to read he'd been in the Air Force for 20 years, because he always seemed like such a laid-back old hippie.

I loves me some Bob Ross. The man had the most soothing voice ever! Seriously, someone should market a white noise machine that, instead of simulated ocean waves or bird chatter, emits a constant stream of gentle, calming BobTalk^TM. Insomnia would be a thing of the past!

There was a series of cartoons in the Get Fuzzy series in which Bob Ross is the antidote to Satchel's (the dog's) anxiety and insomnia. Mom & I--when I was staying with my parents a few years ago--used to watch him for the same reasons.

There was something hypnotic and calming about that show. I miss it.

I can't think of Bob Ross anymore without thinking of this trippy Flash animation (warning, has sound).

My father paints in oils, and one day I decided to do a Bob Ross painting and taped a show. I am no artist, but damn, his technique works, although I did spend four hours rather than 30 minutes.
