Heh. Strange people live on top of the site of Los Angeles to this very day. (Incidentally, that lizard catacombs piece was included in a LACMA exhibition I worked on a few years ago called Phantom Sightings.)

In tangentially related news, a friend of mine spotted Paul Weller on the beach at Malibu this past weekend, sunburnt and shuffling around in flip-flops and ill-fitting shorts. The strangeness of this place is so powerful that sometimes it can make even even the smartest of mods dress like total slobs.
