Is there any actual tech support at Yahoo? [More:]I need to get a supposedly simple question answered about this older version of Yahoo Messenger/Mac, but Yahoo's gawd-awful "Answers" system seems to be what passes for tech support there.

Anyone know if Messenger/Mac 3.0b1 (build 17006) is no longer compatible with their system? It stopped logging-in a couple of days ago.

Luckily Adium 1.0.6 still logs-in perfectly. But it doesn't support webcams.

And, before everyone chimes in with "upgrade to...", I'm on 10.3.9 and that's the last version of Yahoo and Adium that works on this OS. And I haven't the cash to upgrade the OS.
Only tech support I've ever found for them is for the hosting. (which, for that, is actually very good).

Um, you are specifically asking that we not "chime in" with what is, in fact, the answer. According to Yahoo you will need 10.4 to use it. Sorry.

(answer found by Googling "Yahoo! Messenger Mac 3.0b1 build 17006" 4th result.)

See...that's not entirely truthful on Yahoo's part. 3.0 was, in fact, working perfectly under 10.3.9. It's merely a newer build of 3.0 that requires 10.4+. It's been available for awhile now. They both worked just fine on the Yahoo system until a few days ago. Then, it's like they flipped a switch and decided the early build of 3.0 would no longer work, with no warning.
