To Do lists OK. I need a little external motivation today. [More:]

I am SO close to being moved in. I bought furniture last week, and it may be delivered as early as Friday. I'd like to be totally unpacked and organized when that happens. Problem is that the day-to-day chores don't just stop. So here I go with a list.

1) take flattened boxes and carboard out to shed.
2) figure out which tools need to stay inside the house and which can go out to the shed. Move them there. Find a place for tools to stay.
3) Organize shed.
4) Laundry
5) Clean kitchen
6) Determine what belongs in the attic and move things there.
7) Organize office (ugh: big job!)
8) Sweep, swiffer, dust, vacuum, spot-clean carpet.
9) Finish organizing bathroom.
10) Finish organizing bedroom(s)

All this (in part) because I plan to throw a huge bunnies party soon and I want to be ready for y'all. Stay tuned for a post about that. :-)

What do you all have to get done this weekend?

If anyone else needs moral support I'll be checking back in and updating my progress throughout the day.
1) Read Mecha more.

Nothing else matters.

Cardboard is out in the shed.

11) Go through mail.

That's a lot of stuffs to do, Stewie. Good luck!

Me:
1. Finish writing paper
2. Index the 4 journals that I didn't get to do on Friday because baby had a fever and had to be picked up early from daycare.
3. Scrub bathroom
4. Buy new comforter with no feathers/down as we have established that's what's been making mr. gaspode so sniffly.
5. Call my mother
6. Make packing lists for new zealand trip.

Yeah, it's a ton. It's ok. I'll get a lot of it done, but I have no illusions I'll totally finish today. I'm going to take it slow and steady, with rewards and breaks built in.

Kitchen is half-cleaned. Sheets washed and dried. Going on bed next and another load of laundry. Living room is emptied of anything that's not supposed to be there, swept and swiffered. On a roll.

Thanks!

Here is what I think you should do:

1 - Screw organizing the shed, outta sight, outta mind.
2 - With that in mind, I would take care of all of those things that are within your line of sight:
2.1 Break down boxes and throw them in the shed (oops, saw you already did that)
2.2 Clean kitchen
2.3 Organize bedroom
2.4 Organize bathroom
3. Drink beer and read metachat.

IN THAT ORDER.

Sweeping, dusting, organizing offices, vacuuming, spot cleaning, that can all wait.

As for me, today I have already cooked two meals, done three loads of laundrey, cleaned two bedrooms, and translated about 15 pages of nasty financial statements. I got struck by the busy stick evidently when I got out of bed this morning, which is surprising, given how late I was up last night. I am nearly ready to call it a day and treat myself.
My sister in law a couple of weeks ago said that chardonnay tastes like a piece of wood dipped in butter. I say what's wrong with that?!?

I'm actually here because we're procrastinating on cleaning out the basement. We're getting a freezer next week that's going to go down there so we HAVE to do it, but...

not right now.

msali, you're spot on. My enthusiasm is waning.

Nonetheless, I have gotten quite a bit done. Bathroom's getting there, I've identified things to take up into the attic, new sheets are washed and on the bed. Towels are in the washer to be then folded up and put into the bathroom, leading to its further organization. Mail has been gone through, sorted and IDed as to which things I need to deal with tomorrow.

And I'm OUT. (Till tomorrow or a little later if I get another surge of energy.)

I managed to get back to the bathroom window restoration project that I'd started and then dropped a month ago. Last month I took all the parts of the window: sashes, stops, casing, lock, and pullies and removed, stripped, sanded and primed them all. But they've been sitting on the porch since then. I managed to get a first coat of finish paint on all the parts today and I should be able to re-assemble the whole mess tomorrow. Getting the new sash chains threaded into the wall, connected to the weights and then connect to the sashes should be a fun puzzle to sort out.

Once I'm done I'll only have fifteen more windows to go!

I dig the couches & chairs!!! Looks/sounds like you knocked a lot of that list out. I'd avoid #7 indefinitely. No one will look in there. ;)

and thanks again for the beer last week. What a pal!

My list includes packing suntan lotion for Vegas tomorrow, so I'm a happy girl. (Not so happy about still needing to do the nasty dishes in the sink, which would most certainly become beyond nasty if left for a week while we're away. Unless, maybe if I put enough soap...)

Wow, looks like y'all have done some excellent work!

Today I'm going to try to do the roundup today to kill the horrid bermuda grass that makes up my yard, so that I can eventually have a garden. Then go pick out some glasses, and then go hang out with a friend at her pool. I can't believe I've not been in a bathing suit all summer. Farmer's tan galore, man!

Have fun, Pips!
