Plumbing Woes AKA: My Queendom for a Second Bathroom - I've mentioned in a couple different places here that the mister and I are in the midst of a plumbing problem. Do come inside for an update...

Current housing status:
Our bedroom has been in the living room (bed, dressers, side tables, etc.) for over a week. Good thing the living room is a big room; it's crowded but usable. We don't have cold water in the kitchen. House usability isn't bad so far.
They don't know where the break in the cold water line is except that it's between the bedroom/bathroom wall and the kitchen. The plumbing was run through the slab of course. We and the insurance adjuster are still waiting for some quotes/info from the plumbing company (are they going to go through the ceiling, a soffit or jackhammer up the slab, etc). The plumbing people are the slowpokes in all of this.
While waiting for the plumbing info we've found out that the bottom layer (there are two layers) of flooring in the bathroom has
asbestos in it. We just found out this morning that it's going to take three days or so for the asbestos abatement project. Our insurance adjuster is going to have to find a hotel room that will allow four cats and a dog (we'll shut the rats in the mister's office) and hopefully has a kitchenette. The mister is going to have to take those days off from work and we're both going to go crazy with nothing to do. Maybe the four cats bouncing off the walls will be enough entertainment.
What will have to be replaced (as far as we know at this point):
Bathroom: dry-wall, vinyl and paint. The vanity will be removed and repaired or replaced if it can't be repaired. I want to replace the towel bars and toilet paper holder before it gets painted (they're gold, I prefer silver; we pay for those, of course).
Bedroom: dry-wall, carpeting and paint.
Kitchen: unknown - depends on what the plumbers/insurance decide. Maybe the flooring, most likely some dry-wall, paint if dry-wall is replaced.
Insurance is paying for all of the repair of the decor stuff (dry-wall, paint, flooring). It's still unclear how much of the plumbing stuff they cover. We've asked the flooring people to give us a quote on the kitchen floor. If it's not going to be replaced due to plumbing work and it doesn't cost too much, we'll pay for it to be replaced; might as well while everything is discombobulated.
