I Ordered This Totally On A Whim And I Am Very Pleased. . . . .[More:] .What have you gotten lately that is utterly frivolous?
I bought poster-sized copy of this picture from the Library of Congress(via Zazzle). It arrived a week or so ago, on Sunday I framed it and put it up on the wall and it looks great.

I've seen the picture several times on visits to New York and I find it a completely fascinating and evocative photograph - every time I look at it I see something new. I think about the lives of the people, every one of them long dead now. And the pregnant lady at the front, with the yellow shawl and the basket over her arm - I wonder about her baby and what kind of life s/he had.

Most of the things I spend my money on are utterly frivolous.

Like ....boxes of comics at comic-con?

(P.S 1910 is sooooo much better than the Black Dossier, even without Emma Peel)

Last time I spent money frivolously was a couple months ago. It's a very pretty wind-chime with a stained glass sunflower at the top of it. It cost all of 7 bucks.

But I'm seriously jonesing for this t-shirt.
