I had a media free day today It was wonderful. No Internet or TV. I got about 150 pages of 'Zeitoun' by Dave Eggers read.

This may have to become a weekly ritual.

I did a media fast a handful of years ago, no internet, tv, newspaper, radio. It was lovely.

I did a media fast for about 2 hours today. It was so great, I wrote about it on my Facebook, Twitter, and blog. ::removes tongue from cheek:: Hi, my name is TPS, and I'm addicted to the internet.

I have been so unfocussed at work for the last month. I think I am going to start blocking twitter,mecha,meta,nyt... again. It should do me some good.

I already stopped using fb and that wasn't hard. Now to cut back on the rest.

I'm getting behind this idea, too. I've been trying to have internet free evenings - staying off the computer as much as practical evenings and weekends. It's really nice to get back into concrete life, with textures and dimensions and flavors and touchables.

True enough, cillit. I guess I should call it electronc media free day.

It honestly was nice not to have to stare into a screen, updating my blog and reading MeFi and MeCha.
