MetaChat dream. [More:]

I dreamt I was watching a bridge game at a gathering of MetaChatters. I was rubbish at following the game, but there was beer and fried chicken, so I was happy.

I was sitting across the table from eamondaly, who did not look like the pics I've seen. He had extraordinarily light blue eyes, and I whispered to the person sitting next to me (gaspode?) "I think that's eamondaly, but he has Wolfdog's eyes! What gives?"

Then my old pool coach turned up with a truckload of sweet-smelling purple buddleia flowers and I saw an Australian blue-banded bee and it landed on my finger and I shouted "Hey guys look! A blue-banded bee!" and then TheDonF woke me up and I had fifteen minutes to get ready for work.
Whoa...that's an odd one. It seems rife with meaning too. None of which seems clear TO ME.

To see bees in your dream, symbolizes wealth, good luck, harmony, and bliss. Bees are also symbolic of hard work and industry as represented by the common phrase "busy as a bee." Alternatively, the dream could indicate all that is happening in your life or something that is buzzing with activity.

Yes, Theo, but it's a BLUE-BANDED BEE. MY GOD MAN.

OMG of course! A blue band indicates 6, and if the bee had three bands... burn her! Burn her!

Theo, you made me laugh out loud.

The bee is significant to me only because I love bees more than almost anything. I was really bummed to have been woken up since I was just about to examine it closely.

It was right purty.

Well, apparently urban beekeeping is taking off. Hope they keep the stingy little things away from me though...

It's funny, I can see loving the idea of bees, but...in actuality, they seem noisy and potentially stingy. I mean, it's not like I want them ALL DEAD or anything. Really, I don't. I've seen the Bee Movie. I know how badly that could go.

I had a mecha/mefi/irc dream just now. I took at nap from 9 a.m. to 11:15 or so (vacation!).

The dream involved a friend from h.s., skorgu, atlanta, a hotel, painting a room, and mexican frosted croissants.

mexican frosted croissants

These three words intrigue me and also make me happy.

A BEE with BLUE bands! How cool is that?!

I share Specklet's love and fascination with bees (I even have a bee tattoo); they're awesome little critters. My name is bee in Hebrew and I'm sure that's what started it. As a kid I used to draw queen bees with little crowns and sceptres. I wish I still had some of those drawings.

Beard

To see a long beard in your dream, is representative of old age and insight, and wisdom.

Bridge! Of course I was in the dream then :) (weirdly, I was playing bridge last night. Maybe right at the time you were dreaming...)

I'd LOVE to keep bees, but sadly I am allergic. I planted lots and lots of things in the allotment for them, though, and have been enjoying watching them forage (and photographic them when I can).

Did you know that "busy as a bee" is misleading, as them most work they do in a day is four hours?

In real life I have some difficulty with names; when I was young I got a nickname which had nothing to do with my given name, and which I always hated (and which caused me a lot of paperwork troubles). I've deprecated the nickname and go with my given name now, but after so many years that also sounds a bit odd to me. The point to all this is that I am immeasurably tickled to find that I'm in someone's dream - well, that's flattering enough! - but more to the point, with a name I actually picked for myself that sounds like me. How odd is that? I don't know how odd that is.

Also, bees are their own proverbial knees. As in, awesomely fascinating.

HOW DID THE BEE GET THERE! THINK ABOUT IT! WAKEUPWAKEUPWAKEUP!

I dreamed I was close friends with someone I have absolutely no desire to be (not a bunny).
