Three Point Status Update: [More:]
1. I was so excited by the purchase of a new hammock, and even more excited to have somewhere to hang it. Since the hammock arrived and I was able to string it up, it has rained nearly every day, never allowing enough time in between to dry out.
2. It's raining right now.
3. But we need the rain, so I suppose, on some level, it's okay.
1. Did a lot of work today despite also doing a lot of browsing around on the internet. I've got a project I'm enthusiastic about sinking my teeth into, so work's a joy for the time being.
2. Got a music project underway that I'm also enthusiastic about but stalled on, and spent an hour or two this morning beating my head against fruitlessly.
3. Think I want to make a trip up to the National Zoo some time before school starts up again.

1. About to put a chicken in the oven to roast.
2. Got a lot of work done today, despite the fact that the server was down for a while and I couldn't actually upload any of it.
3. Went to the gym at lunchtime and lifted weights.

bonus: less than 3 weeks until I leave for New zealand, woo!

1. might get re-hired back at my old job.
2. need to go to the gym.
3. done with Metachat until at least 2010.

1. Considering heading to the public pool for an evening dip. It's still really hot and sunny.
2. Hard to focus at my job knowing I'm a total lame duck.
3. Thinking about party food. I swear planning parties is more fun than having them.

1. It's very hot and my house holds the heat well.
2. I am trying a personals site. Not too jazzed about it so far.
3. I decided to finally accept myself as someone who can't bring herself to mow the lawn and am paying someone to do it. Feels decadent but good.

1. Planning to take apart my CD player with hopes of salvaging a jammed CD (though probably not the player). AskMe says I'm probably not about to have a horrible horrible accident from taking apart something with a laser in it, and I do dearly love to monkey around with stuff.

2. Had a great tapas party last night, stayed up far too late laughing like loons.

3. My hands are stained a deep, gory red from pitting cherries. After finding a pound of cherries languishing in the fridge, I decided to make an experimental cherry upside-down cake. Wish me luck!

Today has been a day of discoveries.

1. My long commute home today was caused by a fatal train crash, which I didn't know about until I got home. I feel guilty.

2. Just found a plays-in-my-country version of the Ukrainian sand animator from "Ukraine's Got Talent" that was linked on the Blue a few weeks back and today - here. I feel privileged to be alive in a time of relative peace and stability.

3. My landlady really frustrated me last night, but I found out that her sister had brain surgery today and is, thank God, fine. She was obviously stressed, but still came to the weekly language-learning salon-type thing she and her friends have with me. I feel thankful.

1. Exhausted after grandma's funeral last week, and the travel and drama that went with it.

2. Did I mention there was drama? Am still angry and emotionally wrung out from it. And the GF seems to pick the emotionally wrung-out times to overreact to simple things (as in, "I really need some help with the garden") and turn them into sobbing questions along the lines of "Don't you love me anymore??" Did I mention emotionally wrung-out?

3. Came home from Indiana to find a realtor on my doorstep waiting to meet my landlord. Was scared for a couple days that she was going to sell the house. Turns out she just decided to let a property company manage it because apparently I'm really hard to manage. (But it means my landlord is out of my life, which is a Very Good Thing. What I still don't know is if my rent is going up, because the management company hasn't bothered to contact me yet.)

1. Kitten (grey one) purring all over my shoulder and lap. My blood pressure is tangibly dropping. Drinking a kind of nasty rose, that might be helping.

2. Got so many errands done today without even expecting to. Feels great.

3. I want falafel for dinner.

1. Finally consulted my garden muse/advisor about the new yard. Bad news: It's burmuda grass. Good news, my muse/advisor is going to give me 6 blueberry bushes as a housewarming present, and has explained to me exactly what I need to do to get rid of the grass. Muse/advisor works part time at a nursery and has a bunch of credits there for plants. Hello awesomeness! Also! She and her partner have offered themselves a "work day" at the house. She already helped me organize the kitchen and put the bed together, and when she and her partner come they'll be helping me install some sliding shelves into the deep and narrow pantry.

2. After asking that question last week about dating, I decided there are some things I really need to change about myself. Not even connected with dating, either. Just some areas to work on. I'll tell ya, that feels good. I've already begun, which is cool. I'm trying to challenge myself daily. So far so good.

3. I'm taking the week off of work next week. I won't be taking a trip, but I will make some short excursions. Furniture buying, maybe the beach, maybe the mountains? Not sure. A friend should be in the hospital with twins by then, so hopefully I'll be able to go see the cuteness. I think I'd better get some more activities planned so that I don't let a week of vacation just slip away.

1. I have the perfect plan for this Saturday: solo drive to Provincetown, hike the neat trail there that's part of the National Park Service, hit a few antique stores on the way back, get a chocolate shake at Hallet's in Yarmouth, get dinner at the Lobster Hut in Plymouth.

2. Skin breaking out big time this summer, not sure why. I have both zits and age spots on my shoulders, go figure.

3. I might also drive to NYC at some point; haven't yet seen the Lower East Side Tenement museum, which looks really ossem. Also wouldn't mind seeing Leigh Keno's gallery, I think it's open to the public.

1. Mentoring three trainees as well as handling my own caseload is too much. I can't get any of my own work done.

2. How can a 12lb cat snore so loudly?

3. Are we ever going to get a summer?

1. Bought two "new" thrift store shirts to help prolong my interview wardrobe.

2. Sat with "the sewing ladies" at church this morning. I love those sassy old ladies, I decided they're never allowed to die.

3. Finished up all sorts of church paperwork today- yay yay I am the HBIC.

1. My 10am client did show up. As did my 11am client, and my 2pm client. My supervisor apparently psychically realized that today was the day when everyone showed up, and she showed up today for our supervision appointment, which was actually scheduled for tomorrow.

2. I am completely fucking exhausted.

3. I really want to watch bad tv, but I need to figure out what we're doing for dinner.

1. so apparently my mother saw pics from the 10th anniversary meetup and thinks you are all a disreputable-looking lot that I shouldn't be hanging out with.

2. being back on a normal-people working schedule has totally messed up my sleep cycle.

3. i am really really worried about the impending work layoffs.

1. Chicago meetup tomorrow. *HONK*
2. Excited about changes at work that may be afoot, worried that we'll be too stuck in our ways to do anything about it.
3. Putting off cleaning/packing for one more day...

1. Pissed off the insurance adjuster didn't show up

2. Pissed off the plumbing dudes didn't show up

3. Pissed off the contractor dudes didn't show up

WTF, people? Just be where you say you're gonna be when you say you're gonna be there. And if something happens, make a fucking phone call!

1. Spent this morning doing a run-through of my Storytime that I will do, tomorrow, live, in front of some 80 pre-schoolers and grownups. Any tips on how to amplify my singing without a microphone and/or blowing out my vocal cords would be welcome. Also, encouragement. 80 people is 160 eyeballs. That's a lot of eyeballs.

2. Tomorrow I think I'm also going to the Wallingford farmer's market with intent to buy some 40 lbs of fruit to transform into jams, which will be distributed as gifts to various supervisors. I love canning. This is the first season I've tried it and it's awesome. I'm going to run out of shelf space soon.

3. I leave for the Netherlands (with a week on the East Coast) in eight days. There is WAY too much to do before then.

3a. Quilting is awesome and makes me happy.

1. I wish Drexel would make a decision. Apparently they have everything. I have until the end of the month to decide what to do about UMD (without financial penalty) and everything about Drexel seems a million times better than UMD (except cost, but I won't have to commute to the hellhole that is College Park!)

2. I get to play another round of musical cars since the starter shit itself on the Subaru (my dad's car). So now he's driving his pickup, my brother's got the S10, I've got my mother's car now (a fucking behemoth SUV that I can't stand), and hopefully this shit will be resolved soon. I'm fucking tired of not having my own car. (There's a bright red Civic with my name on it at my brother's house, but he's been 'too busy' to get a new driver's seat and change the goddamn transmission fluid. Argh.)

3. I really have nothing productive to do at work and it's driving me bonkers. Plus, I look like a slacker. I've only got one real thing left to do that I put on my PA at the beginning of the year and something else that will probably not even pan out into anything worthwhile.

3a. Dance class tomorrow night. I really hope that when the fall schedule gets released that there isn't a huge gap before the next session starts. I like going out and being active for a little while.

1. Bought myself a new helmet and some fenders for my bike. Going to start commuting to work and generally biking around.

2. Job is going well, I'm still figuring out what I'm doing but I'm making progress.

3. Sometimes the fact that I can't go anywhere in the city without running into someone I know drives me nuts. This is just too small a town.

1. Stressed out mostly about nothing, though my favorite blazer didn't seem to make it in the office move :( Also my cool mousepad.

2. Almost done with Mad Men Season 2!

3. I want to play with my bunny but he is mad at me and keeps headbutting my hand away.

Hmm.

1. Bike still pretty fucked up. I can't get past the 2-3 mile hump where I find my pace and can go for 6 or 8. Well, tomorrow I probably get my Trek 7.3 FX and that will be history.

2. Knee, on the other hand, is healing up pretty nicely. My jammed finger is sore if I whack it the wrong way. I may have actually cracked something after all.

3. My grand-nephew has the biggest smile in the world.

1. My summer job ended yesterday. Good riddance!
2. Cooked my first real meal for dinner. Pasta and mushrooms, spinach, tomato sauce. Take THAT, college life.
3. Memorizing a poem for tomorrow's open mic night at the cafe. Not nervous, but kind of worried it won't be spectacular enough. I suppose the delivery is what counts.

1) Tomorrow I will hopefully turn my short list of potentials into an appointment with a psychologist. The thought of going back into therapy exhausts me. I need so much interior work that if I were a house I'd have me pulled down.

2) Went back to work after one day off to find boss had unexpectedly been fired. But the temporary boss specialist-person they've transferred in is impressing me so far and I admire how the department is starting to handle the unique problems of our weird little transplanted tribe, so they may have all the extra shifts and training of noobs they want out of me.

3) Wrung enough out of the budget to buy a few pairs of pants as well as some lightweight cotton and vintage fabrics for a couple of dollars each at el Goodwill, which I will turn into shirts and perhaps a sundress for vacation clothes depending upon how quickly I can sew them by hand. Been awhile since I did that, but it looks pretty so far.

1. was just barely able to afford to get vacation tickets. Florida, here I come!

2. Taking a huge risk at work today; hope it pays off

3. The house is still a mess, and I leave in three days, augh!

sperose, what made you choose Drexel?

1) Just because you are heterosexual and in a perfectly straight marriage does not mean you can't be, surprise! Queer as a three dollar bill. (nb does not mean gay in this case) So now I am experiencing the deja vu feeling of
2) THE CLOSET! LOL, I thought I was over this shit when I was 14 years old.
3) I am going to be 30 in two weeks, why does my body decide to get all hormonal and dig up this long buried NEST OF FIRE ANTS? I have WORK TO DO.
4) Its not all bad tho :)

Lysdexic--Mostly because they'll actually let me take the classes I want to take. (UMD has told me that since my undergrad grades aren't good enough to get me into the archives track and basically has treated me like I'm not even good enough to go there and has been a bunch of dickfaces from day 1.)
