My builders finished work today! →[More:]
I am SO pleased with how my flat looks. But before you start getting all excited and demanding Before and After photos, I'm still waiting for my sofa to be delivered, which will be another few weeks (it's being custom-made) and my dining chairs have to be re-covered. So the grand unveiling will be a few weeks away.

But this weekend I can move my books back from the garage, and have a massive cleanup in here (despite the builder and his lads cleaning up every day, there's still a ton of dust everywhere.

One of the extras I asked for, after the Neighbour from Hell was evicted, was to take advantage of the empty flat and put up a high fence between our two little back yards. That's been done, plus a new gate, so I have total privacy now. With the old 4ft fence, anyone in the garden belonging to the upstairs flat could see right into my living room and kitchen.

The floors are beautiful, the new storage in the hall is awesome, the cats are still confused and I am almost broke but happy! The old decor was very much my ex-husband's taste, somewhat old-fashioned. But I've gone light, and modern, the walls are magnolia (a very pale yellow) and the floors are 'honey oak'. I'm delighted with the result. A doorway has been knocked through and everything looks much cleaner and more spacious than I could ever have imagined.
