Things you're proud of. [More:]

I'm proud of all the things we're growing in our allotment.
Oh, Specklet, that is a gorgeous assortment!!

I am proud of: My kids. I don't think I'm screwing them up too badly.
I'm also proud of the strength I've found inside myself in the last couple of years. And the pumpkin patch I've got out front!

That is some crazy foodstuffs. I keep looking at things like CSAs and farmers markets, but I'm pretty limited in terms of veggies/fruits that I like and I'm only one person.

I'm proud of myself for taking a huge step out of my comfort zone and signing up for that belly dance class through the county. I was freaking out so hard beforehand and I thought I was going to be completely horrible and that it was going to be a massive trainwreck but it's actually kind of amazing. I feel all connected with my body and pleased with my strength and all that. (Even if I have zero rhythm, heh.)

I'm proud to have made progress on my house today. I'm proud of my grandma for using birth control even though it had been illegal just a few years before. I'm proud of my friends who work to ensure civil rights.

Oh, and specklet. Gorgeous.

I'm proud of sewing a dress and a shrug yesterday, after having been kind of scared of my sewing machine for the last year or so.

I'm proud of my relationship with my partner. We're able to turn fights into really valuable conversations, and that took a long time to figure out how to do.

sperose - if you contact a CSA sometimes they have people who want only half shares and can hook you up with a partner. Or ask neighbors / coworkers if anyone wants to split a box - much cheaper, all the advantages and if you don't like eggplant, for example, maybe they will.

Also the other thing that I learned from the CSA is some veggies I'd never ever buy are now my favorite because I had to figure out how to use them and they are good (nettles, sunchokes, ramps).

I'm proud that I finally made it to the dry cleaner's and have doubled - yes doubled - the number of wearable pairs of trousers I now possess!

Specklet: yum!

I'm proud of myself for getting my job. It's at a pretty prestigious company and I beat off a lot of competition to get offered an even better job than the one I applied for. It's also in publishing, which is a notoriously hard industry to get a break in.

I'm proud that I'm thriving there, that I'm meeting deadlines and exceeding my expectations. That I'm relishing the work and can see results from the things that I do -three books were commissioned last week because of market research that I did!

I'm also proud of myself for fighting off depression. I've come a long way in the past few years and have grown a lot and learnt a lot about myself.

I'm proud of myself, dammit!!

Thanks for the Cute Tributes, TPS and gaspode! And gaspode, what a great age, those baby and toddler years... they'll be gone before you know it, so make the best of 'em now! She's so sweet!

Nice work Specklet! My allotment has suffered due to the weather and my inability to do much to combat the weeds due to the restrictions on my activities stemming from a prolapsed vertebra. The rain killed off our raspberry crop and the weeds have constricted the beans. The potatoes are fantastic though, there's not many of them but they have a fantastic taste and texture.

I am proud of my completion of the Beijing 24 step at Tai Chi, which I really should practice before this weeks class!

Who is that Maddy imposter and what have you done with the real one? That Maddy Fake is wearing girly pink and she's smiling.

Oh god, my ovaries are twitching like crazy.

(hee hee eej, if we never dressed her in girlie pink we'd have to give away 70% of her wardrobe - gifts, you know. She's in her all blacks onesie today, like a good little Mad Dog)
