Do-it-yourself steadicam mount! I *so* want to build one of these, but I'm not very handy. It'd be FUN to play with, though... check out the guy's sample video at the bottom of the page.[More:] He's updated the design a couple of times, but they look a little complicated, as well.
BP, I'm betting you could make one of these. Which one do you like best? I'd be willing to talk you through it if you need some help, but I'm sure you've got it in you to do it. Otherwise, for a small fee, I could build one for you...

Hmmm, after looking at them, I can see that I like #1 and #5 the best. I'll get to work on it, BP

You're my inspiration, eeks!

I kinda like #1 the best, because I understand how it works. I can see how you'd have to walk around the wide weight bar, but c'mon, he did a great job in that sample video, which he made an hour after he built it.

If you make one of these, I INSIST on a walkthrough. I think I understand most of it, but it'd be great to talk to someone who's made one themselves.

Yeah, BP, I like the gimbal thing better too. It seems like a better design, if a bit more work. I work with some people that are very talented machinists. I'll be figuring some of this out.
