The End is nigh. A chilling excerpt from the TLC show Toddlers & Tiaras. (It was right at the 1:30 mark that I received my Apocalyptic revelation.)
Yes, that's a 2-week old baby being put into a tuxedo.

I decided yesterday that I must start watching this show.

Wasn't even a clip on tie. Hope Mom's paying attention. Dayum.

I didn't know they did this shit to boys, too.

I really think this an abomination. Seriously. These are your KIDS, people! They are NOT DOLLS for you to dress up! I was watching something else on TLC recently and I couldn't watch the ads for this show. I just couldn't.

I'm generally a fan of "I can't believe I'm watching this" television but...I don't know if I can watch this.

That kid had a "diva moment" for crying and then was mock cried at by her mom, then her mom broke out some kind of weird talking hand that talked in Dr. Phil voice? I don't...what.

I never thought I'd say this, but that's two minutes right there that make the dudes who buy the Love Dolls look like well-adjusted.

I've caught this show a couple times. It's worse than you can even imagine™.

I can't WAIT. I haven't seen an episode yet, just the previews. It's on the TiVo!

I got sucked into that last season. Mostly I just feel sad - the expenditure that these people lay out for costumes, tanning, hair extensions, dental devices, etc is always going to be far, far greater than what they can win. The pageants are so cheap and the cost to the parents so expensive, it surprised me.

There was a very poor family on last season who were really in it to better their child's life, and when they didn't win, they were absolutely crushed. I hope they find other, better ways to do what they were trying to do.

That's what crazy about it, is the MONEY! On stuff for a child that's just going outgrow it in a year or less. Meanwhile, from what I've seen, the Moms have completely let themselves go. Forget buying little Tammy a glitter ball gown- buy yourself something new for the first time in 10 years! She doesn't want it, and you DESERVE it.
