If you just mean you've stopped visiting then also research blocking it via your equivalent of the "hosts file" so it doesn't load up in your browser at all.

Nope, but I usually end up off of Metafilter and MetaChat at some point in late summer early fall. My "vacation" lasts two to four months. I don't know why it happens, but it has the last three years.

I do this, in theory, from 9am to 4pm daily, using Leechblock. "In theory" because Leechblock doesn't stop me opening IE instead of firefox. It does serve as a reminder of how much I dislike IE, though.

Well, back in the day when the chart went up showing me as the top commenter, I decided I had to go cold turkey. I'm not sure if I ever actually blocked it but I did force myself to not read and then just to lurk. When I came back to commenting it was with a strict ration of at first once a day, then ramping up to a maximum of about half what I had been doing before. I don't think I ever got back to that level, actually -- I got better at just lurking.

I have tried this. It's useful, but the shakes are terrible.
