13 July 2009

this weekend ...was topped off with watching three bunnies gambol over my parents' field whilst eating homemade strawberry ice cream. What was your high point?
I cleaned my bathroom and it looks SO GOOD.

I took all the old pine knobs off my old chests of drawers and replaced them with glass ones, in all different colours. They're shaped like roses. They look beautiful.

My dad came over and helped me put precise holes in the walls and ceiling so I actually have real light now in the guest bedroom and living room. I also swapped out all the busted up brass knobs and put on the super shiny silver ones. I'm very pleased that my house is finally getting more homey.

And I finished sending off everything to Drexel, since UMD obviously isn't going to do anything.

Knitting and watching Ice Road Truckers. And, living another day where I did not give in to despair.

Going out for dinner and wine with friends on Sat. night and then coming home and watching a couple episodes of Saving Grace.

Getting home after driving from Grant's Pass Oregon to Fresno and then to San Francisco in one day. A very long day of driving mostly on I-5 and 99, not terribly scenic for the most part. But I got to be at my brothers wedding with the rest of my family, so totally worth it.

Spending time with my sis-in-law and 6-year-old niece who are down visiting from Albany, NY. We went to the zoo and the historic Stockyards (y'know... real cowboys and stuff!) It's been a blast seeing my 18- and 21-year-old sons act like kids again with their little cousin.

Took my kids fossil hunting on Sunday. We had a great time; you could find fossilized shellfish everywhere - someone found a shark tooth! (It was a park sponsered guided activity).

The antibiotics kicked in and the infection in my lower left bridge is no longer killing me. I actually got sleep last night. Sleep!

Although having some time alone was great, the best part was when the mister returned home from his trip to Kamloops.

I also had homemade strawberry ice cream - my first batch of ice cream ever. Definitely a high point.

I had some very good ribs this weekend but I would love to have seen bunnies gambol whilst eating homemade strawberry ice cream. I mean, I've never seen bunnies eat any kind of ice cream, let alone, whilst gamboling.

My high point took place on late Friday night to early Saturday morning. We visited some friends, who cooked us a lovely dinner. Libations and mild recreational enhancers were consumed. Then my husband and I came home and hung out for a nice long time. We both had big-ass smiles on our faces the whole next day. Nice highlight.
