Suggestions for copying my iPod to my new computer? My hard drive recently crashed, and so ikkyu2 installed a new one for me. We were able to save most of my files from the old computer, but I apparently lost a bunch of my music. It's all on my iPod, though. Is there an easy-ish way to copy it over?→[More:]

I just saw a suggestion for CopyTrans. Has anyone used it, or does anyone have other suggestions?

(About 95% of the music I have is stuff that I ripped from my own CDs. The rest is files that I downloaded from friends. None of it was purchased from the iTunes store. All of which, I'm hoping, should make the transferring process easier.)

Does Yamipod copy ratings, genres, play counts, date added, etc., too? If not, I recommend Tansee iPod Transfer, which copied over all the metadata flawlessly when I used it about a year ago.

I'm not sure what Yamipod really does yet, because it does not seem to be playing nice with my iPod.

Oh no. :( It worked well when I used it, but that was probably about a year or two ago.

It will work, and then it will stop working and say my iPod is not plugged in, even though both iTunes and my computer have already detected the iPod. It's frustrating.

I only did this once and I used iPod Rip. Which worked for me.
