FolkNerd joy! I just one my choice of a free Smithsonian Folkways CD. What should I get?[More:]Every month I faithfully play the trivia contest in the Smithsonian Folkways email newsletter. I've been at it a while and never seemed to have any luck...but this month I won, I won, I won! A MAJOR AWARD! Frageelay!

Oh, choices, choices. Any good Folkways recs? I could add to my Southern Journey discography...sea music...gospel...that coveted Prison Songs collection...hmmmm.
Classic Blues is an excellent one.

The Reverend Gary Davis. This is a record I would love to have. I grew up wanting to BE him.

No on second thought I never wanted to be him. But I sure listened to a few of his LP's and tried to emulate him.

This is my favorite release on Smithsonian Folkways. YMMV of course.

Yes, kodama - I respect your taste, but I believe I've enjoyed enough John Cage for me for the time being. ;)
