Those face masks are becoming the icon of the swine flu outbreak, yet they don't protect you from swine flu. I'm somewhere between amused and annoyed that media outlets keep posting pics of people in them as "representing" the pandemic. You have to represent what people are doing (like wearing masks) but I think there needs to be more emphasis with these images, saying, "BTW, this doesn't work."
