Meanwhile, in blighty, we're busy voting for racists. These bastards took two seats in the North. I'm preaching to the choir here, but in case you've been living under a rock, they're nastypieces of work.
Oh wow, they wee saying that EU had a lot of votes for rightwing racist style parties all over the place, I'd do a post in the blue if I could remember all the other countries that did something interesting. Ireland barely voted at all. Latvia voted for a Russian minority left-wing dude. Oddness. I can't even remember which country it was but they had 26 small parties to choose from.
Oh and our wee version of BNP has steadily climbed in the polls and got a lot more votes than last time too. What's with the far right winds all over europe?
Well my party kicked unbelievable amounts of ass here in Scotland and we are all happy! And I am having a sober month so AM NOT HUNGOVER! I MADE MY TARGET IN THE AREA I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR! I actually made my target!
Oh and the BNP are fucking assholes. They were at teh count last night i was attending and talking huge shit. They don't let black people in their party, who the fuck is voting for these people! They got too many votes here in Scotland, altho the Greens did better (they got a round of applause from everyone at the count last night)!
We have to unite and fight fascism. Labour put out a leaflet to the tune of "please to be voting for Labour for what to keep the BNP out." That doesn't help, people! Antifascist campaigning needs to be NON PARTISAN.
Dismal turnout as well: Only 43 percent of the 375 million people eligible to vote in 27 countries visited the polls, according to European Parliament figures, continuing a fall in interest since elections for MEPs were first held 30 years ago.
