Got IRC ? I was going to pop into the metachat room last night, but then something happened that prevented it . It seems that MIRC only allows you to use it on a trial basis for 961 days before it cuts you off . this is too bad because by 1300 or so days, i would have been ready to make up my mind about it. oh well, freeloaders cant be choosers .

Can anyone recommend another good free IRC Program to try ?

Can't remember what I did on my last PC, but I was able to use mIRC much longer than that. I was even able to disable the nag screen, somehow. Poke around (or pay Khaled).

I use Chatzilla which is a free Firefox Add-on.

I don't have a problem with paying for software in general but MIRC really isn't worth it for me. I've never liked the interface as much as Xchat but that's probably my *nix background talking.

I use chatzilla as well, or I did when I spent any time on IRC.

I just use the java client. Trying to set up anything else is too much like work.

I'd just download a new version of mIRC. Or grab the latest version of Polaris (a version of mIRC). When I'm on my girlfriend's laptop, I just use Miranda as a single, lightweight client for all my IM and IRC needs.

Well, I'm on my other PC now, and I just fired up mIRC for the first time in a hundred ages, and it still works for me. From what I can tell I'm on day 1284. Sorry Khaled. But I wasn't using it most of the time.
