Where have all the Bed, Bath, & Beyond coupons gone? [More:]I used to get these in the mail all the time. But now that I'm desperate to get some new bedding, they never appear. (And I already used my 20% off coupon via email when I signed up with them a few months ago. And still no further coupons!)
I've got three sitting on my fridge right now (just got one today, actually). My brother hoards them in his truck since he alleges that most of the time the cashiers don't care about the expiration date.

I still get them all of the time and I never use them. I like BB&B but never seem to get down there to shop. I have a coupon that expires on 7/13. I can mail it to you if you're interested.

A cashier told me you could bring in a coupon, along with a receipt for a coupon-less purchase, after the fact and get the discount refunded to you.

And because I can't resist:

They've gone to Sham-Wows, everyone
Oh when will they ever Learn?
Oh when will theyyyyyy... ever Learrrrnnnn?

My sister worked at BB&Beyonce until last year, and she always told me that this was the case.

got one this week in the mail. Went into the spam bucket we have near the mailboxes in my building.

Sadly, I can't even find any expired coupons around the house, so I may have to take you up on your offer, Lori!

Yarp, just got one in the mail yesterday. Perhaps one will emerge before the weekend?

OR, come to Chicago, give me a call, and I can get you an even better discount and a certain Chicago-based home retailer I work for that sounds like a Southern-inspired restaurant chain.

I thought that they went under, or was that Linens and Things?
posted by octothorpe 02 June | 19:41
I'll send it to you tomorrow, scody. No problem. My email is in my profile.

Linens and Things filed for bankruptcy last month and is online-only.

Not surprising, about a year ago my mom and I wandered into one looking for some shower curtain clips and ... it was a bedraggled mess, it smelled like a bathroom and not in a good way but in an over-perfumed awful way, plus after you walked in you had to walk the entire circumference of the store to get back out. Meh.

They've been sending them to my mom for a while, even though the nearest ones are, like, 45 miles in any direction. My dad kept dutifully stacking them with my mom's mail with his little initials to cross off who in the family had seen them: R I D

Now that he's in a care facility, I just went to the website and removed her address ....

When I lived in Austin, the newspaper I worked for printed a BB&B coupon that read, "$10 off. No minimum purchase." But they forgot to put an expiration date on them.

My girlfriend and I hoarded them and for the next two years, any time we were near a BB&B, we'd go in, pick up a towel or a frame and a pack of gum and walk out smiling. They hated us at that store. I'm not exaggerating when I say we must have made two hundred trips to that same store.

I feel a little guilty about it now.

Crate & Cracker?
posted by scody 02 June | 21:18
Nope, I think it's Barrel & Crates. That's the one with the big Donkey Kong on the roof.

I just got one today! Also, it seems they print one in every issue of every bridal magazine I get, you could try peeking in there.

I just got one in the mail the other day. On a related topic, where have all the mypublisher.com specials gone? I FINALLY finished putting together my wedding album, and now they aren't doing any specials. Before I was ready to order it, I swear they had 50% off coupons every other month!

They're scarce in this part of the woods too. Haven't seen one since the first of the year...

Part of my job is monitoring our "Comments?" section of the website. Every week, without fail, some will:

1. Confuse us with Cracker Barrel, intentionally or otherwise.

2. Ask why we don't sell either crates or barrels, intentionally or otherwise.

But that Donkey Kong line put a smile on my face, to be sure. Gracias, box.

So if someone should post a comment that said "Hi, SpiffyRob!" you would see it?
posted by deborah 03 June | 10:48
Yes. But don't, I guess, only because I don't need to forge any more connections between "SpiffyRob" and work, and ~40 others read the comments too.

Non-identifying weirdness is totally fine by me, though. Just make sure it's the "Feedback" form, and not the "Customer Service" form. I don't see the latter.

Well, dang, but I'm glad I controlled my impulse.
