Non-sequiturs that make you wonder So, my ex told me she was getting a hip replacement (she has rheumatoid arthritis), and the first thing that popped into my head was "Do you feel less human? Have you crossed the divide from man to machine now?"

It was just a little funny, but I'm wondering whether you all have strange things like this pop up in your heads from time to time.
When I got my pacemaker/defibrillator I made lots of jokes about becoming a cyborg. Now when I go in for the pacemaker checkup, I refer to it as my 30,000 mile check up. I've also joked with the tech that they should just give me a USB connector and I could upload the data from home. Since the thing has never fired, it's easier to make jokes about it. I'm coming up on 5 years and it's time for a battery replacement.

That is less odd than you think. After I had rods put in my legs and plates in my arm I got more cyborg jokes than I could count.

I wasn't talking just about cyborg non sequiturs. Non sequiturs of any kind are welcome.

reenum, what you said to your ex wasn't really a non sequitur. It was relevant to the statement that preceded it.
