First Obama-In-The-White-House Doonesbury Strip! [More:]

For Doonesbury Dorks amongst us -

I've been waiting to see how Trudeau would handle the obligatory "White House Exterior" shot panels for the Obama Era, and I believe this link points to the first one.

Pretty downtempo, but still fun to see.
I guess this means he's going to reveal his icon for Obama sometime this week... excellent. (I think a halo would be hilarious.)

Funny stuff. I liked it. And the icon? Gotta be a halo, surely. The other suggestions (Raybans, Blackberry) are lame.

Oh definitely down with the halo idea - although I think a mortarboard with a gold tassel (like they give to Ph.D graduates) would make a good one, also.

I'm going for a laurel wreath, Roman-emperor style.

I was always surprised that he didn't do more when he got elected. It was kind of, you know, historical.

Eh, Miko? Recall that Dubya's was a centurion's helmet.

I have to say thanks for reminding me about Doonesbury @ Slate because the military blogs section is pretty amazing. The article about the female army nurse visiting the Pentagon 9/11 memorial made me cry because I'm so pissed on behalf of the New Yorkers and at least two of my friends who are also grieving who don't have as nice a place to do it at yet.

There's a big difference between a centurion and an emperor!
