You know those moments when your realize... [More:]that you've been doing it all wrong and have been effing everything up in an area of your life? There is regret and embarrassment, and maybe some sadness too.

At the same time there is relief and happiness. Happiness because you are glad you actually realized you have been doing more harm than good and optimistic that you can change your ways and not repeat past behaviors.

I had one of these moments (growth?) tonight and I thought I'd share my rambles.
Those ARE wonderful moments. Painful, too, but yeah, figuring out an aspect of life is worth it. Congrats on whatever your epiphany was.

So you feel your life's become a catastrophe
Oh, it has to be,
For you to grow, boy.

The first 100 years of life are the hardest.

I do know those moments, Lori. And (because I am in a downer mood today) sometimes I get them and have absolutely no idea how to fix it, or improve. Sigh.

When I learned how to properly chop an onion, I felt like this. I know yours is probably much more profound.

rmless that made me laugh.

I wanted to call it an epiphany but was hesitant to call it that because in the back of my head I knew I was probably not doing the best thing but didn't have the maturity or skills to behave differently. This area has to do with my kids. It's not that interesting and I'm probably being a little hard on myself but I'm glad it dawned on me to stop being an idiot about certain things.

Doohickie, good song! Supertramp always reminds me of a particularly lovely time in my life. That year one of my dearest friends was living in a house on the beach and I spent a lot of time there and for some reason listened to a lot of Supertramp. Great memories!
