Swine flu death watch [More:]
Okay, no one I know has it, but you clicked on the link, didn't you? Swine flu trivia:

. The strain of swine flu that has gotten to the U.S. is not as strong as the one in Mexico, meaning you are less likely to need hospitalization (or worse) in the U.S.

. This strain is similar to a strain that appeared in 1957 which may be the reason few older people are getting it- they still have a resistance in their immune systems.

. On my bike ride this morning, I rode by the epicenter of the outbreak in our town (an intermediate school). My riding partner informed me they actually pressure-washed the exterior brick on the building to make sure all the germies are gone.
few older people are getting it

I'm glad to hear that. Old people are always so vulnerable to any kind of flu. Children are too, but they don't seem to have any such immunity...

The first two are the opposite of trivia!

But yeah, hopefully that is really the case and limits the mortality and/or virulence.

I hope the pressure-washing was just for graffiti. Unless they were pressure-washing students' hands.

"The outside of this building may be covered in germs that could kill anyone who comes in contact with them." "What should we do?"

"I know, let's wash all the germs into the storm water system so everyone can get some"
