The unlimited dreams of J.G. Ballard. My favorite author passed away last weekend, and this Salon article is the best obit/summing up of his work that I've seen so far.
→[More:] I can honestly say that Ballard's work has influenced my life in ways that no other writer, artist, or philosopher has. It colors everything from my photography and artwork to the kind of places I like to visit when I'm on vacation. My entire understanding of how the future may be, comes from reading Ballard.
About a week before Ballard's death, I started following the
Twitter stream of Simon Sellars, founder of the always-excellent
Ballardian.com. Here are some other worthwhile Ballard-related links that Sellars has posted in the last several days:

The Guardian's Ballard archive (this is a real treasure trove)

"Airports, Cities of the Future" by J.G. Ballard
