21 April 2009

Holy jumpin mother o'God in a side-car with chocolate jimmies and a lobster bib It has taken THREE HOURS, but I have finally managed to get this morning's pill to go all the way down. Sheesh.

So, what's up with y'all?
Going to the laundromat soon. Do you think I'll be able to dry my mattress cover in the same dryer with everything else, or should I put in in a separate dryer for extra time?

TPS, I would use a separate dryer.

I was up at 4:30 this morning for work. I'm done now and am growing very sleepy. I think I'll take a power nap while my husband bikes to the school to retrieve the children.

TPS, my guess would be that so long as the total dryer load isn't cuckoo...toss it in with everything else. If it's going to pack the dryer, though, it'll slow down the drying of everything else. So, in that case, it gets its own dryer.

That's what I'd say. Yup.

Bleary, grey day here. I'm still waiting on lots of details to become clearer before I can move forward with pretty much ANYTHING in my life. Slowly saying goodbye to my house though. It's kinda nice to have the time to do that.

I've had lots of actual work to do today, which is interfering with my list-making and planning. (I am obsessive about making lists and after winding up with 2 containers of pepper, which my mother says is probably a 5 year supply, I'm not buying anything else until I can get it on a list saying that it actually is something I need.)
I won't have internets in the new place until the 29th. Argh! I plan on moving my computer over before this weekend so I can at least watch TV shows I have saved to my HD.

I really to remember to sit down and start bailing the water out of the fubar washer so the boys can move it out and hopefully replace it with a cheapo one from CL, at least until they TEAR OUT THE FUCKING DOOR to make it able to fit a 27" washer/dryer.

I just spent an hour understanding pixel dimensions and DPI, and that I can't set DPI for a GIF file, but I can set it for a JPG file, and Word will understand it and display it properly.

Now, need to make something for lunch, but can't do it now as it will disrupt some mom/kids activities taking place right now.

Do you find that clothes become wrapped in the mattress cover when being tumbled in the dryer? I usually do and it slows the drying way down. I'd opt for a separate dryer if the cost isn't prohibitive.

My left index fingernail, along with my kitchen knife skill training, just performed its function wonderfully. Instead of having blood in my onions and a short left index finger, I have a funny dent in the nail and a belly full of tacos. I think I'll play guitar now, in celebration and relief.

I recommend a course in knife skills to anyone (I had mine as part of a job). It's like a refresher course for drivers and motorcyclists -- you'll be so much safer and more proficient with the extra knowledge and practice -- it's absolutely worth it to do. Your fingers will thank you.

A separate dryer it shall be.

Things are pretty good today even though it's rainy.
I got a bunch done at work, and ate kettle chips with nutella again. Now I am out of chips so I'll lay off.
Tonight I am going on a banh mi taste test adventure. I have 4 stops mapped out.

mmmmm....banh mi. Wish I had a place closer to me--I never get enough of them.

My day off today, and I decided to sort through the seasonal clothes, making piles of donations from each season. I now have three bags full of clothes (one is full of clothes my son has outgrown). Then I did laundry; mopped the kitchen floor and the floor in my bathroom; dusted; and rehung a closet door. I like those kind of days where you feel accomplished.

I got my eye injection yesterday (previous). The injection itself (there were two - Avastin and an antibiotic) were uncomfortable but not painful. But afterwords... oy. I'd say a solid six on the 1 to 10 pain scale. It's much, much better today; two at the most and more uncomfortable than painful.

The bad part - two more injections to come over the next 12 weeks.

The good part - because I couldn't read (or do much of anything) the mister has started reading The Hobbit to me.

OMG, Hugh Janus - for tthe last week I've been thinking of doing a knife skills course, but wasn't sure if such a thing would be available to amateurs and haven't been prompted to actually, y'know, find out. I have great knives and am a decent cook but my knifecraft leaves a lot to be desired. And now I've found several in the next few weeks - thanks for the push!

OMG I needed MeCha today. We had a two hour "brainstorming" meeting called by the Perky Marketing Director. At the outset she said the actual brainstorming would only about 30-40 minutes; the rest of the time would be taken up with "warming up" and "ice breaking" exercises. The only one that even partially amused me was that we had to tell two truths and one lie about ourselves. After that I was pretty much writing drivel and mind farts and OMG KILL THIS PERSON AND PUT THEM OUT OF MY MISERY in my notepad.

ooh, deborah, I feel your pain. I had an eye infection that was bacterial and viral and I suspect fungal. Didn't get shots, but my eyes were miserable for months. That can make you cranky as all hell. I wish you a speedy recovery.

DarkForest YOUR DOIN' IT RONG!

you're meant to close the snaps or buttons on your duvet cover BEFORE you put it in the dryer so your other clothes don't get stuck in a ball in there!
