Good news! Captain Richard Phillips is safe.→[More:] I've been following this story closely, partially because the captain works for the same shipping company that my partner used to work for. (My partner is still in shipping, but he changed companies a few years ago.) But anyway: congrats to Capt. Phillips and his family!

I'm glad it ended up with the Captain safe. I work with some former merchant marines (recently left the trade), and it will be interesting to hear what they think of the whole situation. In my mind, the Captain is a true leader.

I was so relieved to hear this yesterday.

Plus, can I just say as well: I'm insanely impressed with the sharpshooting involved -- three shots, in the dark, while the targets were bobbing on water, with the captain unscathed.
