It just changed to $84.95. Weird. . I swear they were $9.99 when I first did the search.

Oops to some affiliate!

A few years ago, I sold buckets of discontinued II and III editions for $20-$30 a pop (maybe even some IVs). So, it's not totally unreasonable a possibility, but almost definitely breaks the "everybody play nice" guidelines of Nikon and/or Amazon.

Well I was going to order them for $9.99, and just about had it in, then I noticed that my phone # was out of date, so when I changed, that, the binoculars vanished from the order, from one click to another. I wonder if they would have actually sent me these things for $9.99, had to gotten the order in.
