I didn't know it had a name.

I'm sure I've heard a poetic name for it before! It is the answer to a riddle and it's not "moon shining on a body of water" because it is supposed to be one word.

I was going to say "moon road," but you're looking for one word. Hmmn...

How about "Lunar Path". I know it's two words, but that's the best i can come up with.

I've found it. Moonglade.

Bonus OED entry for moonglade (since I can access it here at work):

moonglade n. U.S. the track made by moonlight on water.

1866 J. R. LOWELL Biglow Papers 2nd Ser. Introd., *Moonglade: a beautiful word: for the track of moonlight on the water. 1982 J. MARK Aquarius iv. 61 The King..rose from the bench..his cloak unfurling like a moonglade behind him.

Wow, I'm so glad to have learned there are words for moon tracks on the water. Thanks.

I think it's moonglade! Although it might just be "moonlight" with the water being a red-herring?

Anyway, thanks seanyboy!
