Oooooh yaaaaay!

I love it when I know the days are going to start getting longer.

It's already staying light until 8 p.m. or so.

This is the beginning of the best time of the year. I've brought my bike back out!!!

Oh man, yeah. It was darn near snowing last week, and I feared for my irises that had started blooming.

This week it was all sunshiney and my irises are blooming everywhere and I'm feeling so much better.

Astrophysics question: at what latitude is the equinox measured? Or does it matter? Is Deadhorse, AK having the same light equality today as Tuscan, AZ?

Happy spring! My buds are about to flower, the daffodils and crocuses are out and it's been sunny and warm all week so YAY!

Olive and I went to Point Woronzof tonight, the closest spot for reaching the ocean. The whole shoreline was piled with huge ice flows, which are always fun to climb on, but Olive had some difficulty because her legs are so short. We played in the snow, sniffed some poop, marked some driftwood, climbed over the large ice flows, and watched the sun set.

There's something beautiful about a group of strangers who gather to silently watch the sun go to sleep.

We walked along the shore until the wind picked up and lodged some sand in my eyes. Olive wanted to stay longer, I love watching her having so much fun running through the snow.

This was a good first day of spring.
