Carbonated water: Good or bad for plants? →[More:]
On the one hand, plants like carbon dioxide. On the other hand, carbolic acid is probably bad for them.
The roots aren't involved in photosynthesis, so I doubt they're interested in CO2. I'd say try pouring it over a raw wound first before endangering an innocent plant.
Right, but pouring the carbonated water releases a massive amount of fizz, which I imagine the plants are all about (also, this is a relatively small, indoor plant). It'd be like a whiff of fresh air (or pure oxygen) for us!
And clearly I mean moronic acid. Thanks for the correction!
I actually did a science fair project on this way back in the day. The Coke plant grew just about as well as the water plant. There may have been a few minor side effects (hyperactivity, headaches) but it didn't seem to make much difference good or bad.
