Happy St Patrick's Day! And also, my apologies in advance.[More:]

I am still sick, and although I went to work yesterday, today I felt so ill again and much worse than yesterday that I went to see the doctor, who told me to stay off work for the rest of the week. A sample (of what, you do not want to know) has been sent away for testing, in case I have e-coli, salmonella, MRSA, etc.

For the next few days I am allowed to eat nothing but boiled potatoes. No skins, no butter, no salt or pepper. If I mash the potatoes, I have to do it without milk or butter.

I won't be going too far from home for the rest of the week, so if I become a nuisance on here, please (a) accept my apologies ahead of time and (b) don't hesitate to tell me.
And in the meantime, here is a bunny for you.

Oh my, plain potatoes. No fun at all. Course, being sick isn't fun to beging with. Best wishes for feeling better very very soon.

On of my friends was living in Chekslovakia and came down with a mysterious illness. She had to follow the same approach of eating only plain boiled potatoes. For weeks. To this day, potatoes aren't one of her favorite foods. Hope your bland food diet provides you with a good answer. Not knowing is crazy-making.

Ugh, sorry to hear about the illness, Jan. Sounds miserable!

But, happy St. Pat's!

Today is also the 26th anniversary of my hubby asking me to marry him...yay!

Essexjan, I am so sorry you aren't feeling well-but if that translates into more bunny pictures here then something good is coming out of your suffering ;-)

Huh. Weird. I have never heard of the potato diet for sickness in the US. Here, we usually go with dry toast in these sorts of situations.

Anyway, sorry you are ill!

How apt, potatoes on St. Patrick's Day!

Potato diet or BRAT diet is so old skool. She's the doctor so I'm sure she's onto something. Feel better soon, jan.

We should make a pact to all go pantless today.

When I had dysentery in the Levant, I was put on the potato diet, basically, except they also allowed carrots and turnips. It took a long time to get well. I hope you don't have dysentery.

I'm gonna get a t-shirt with a big shamrock on it with the slogan "Kiss Me, I'm Needy!"

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
