jonmc's picture made me laugh out loud. Those shoes are everywhere. They are quite hideola.

A long time ago I read that Gwyneth Paltrow has a pair of gray flannel Birkenstocks. I bought some. I think that is the first and only time I consciously bought something a celebrity wore. Big mistake. They were not flattering or cool.

I think the shoes are fine and that a picture taken in a moment can suggest anything. An assistant looks down for a second and WHAM suddenly Time pounces on it to suggest that they're ashamed and tense.
