Oh boy. I don't know if I can watch it. Call me a goofball, but I remember very clearly the morning I came downstairs and started putting my shoes on to go to school, and my mom came in the room and said gently 'Jim Henson died,' as though she were breaking the news about a member of my family. And I was really saddened! It seems kind of funny that it should have felt so personal, but it really did. I was born the year Sesame Street debuted, grew up on it, graduated from that to the Muppet Show and the Muppet Movie...his creativity and good humor was definitely a big part of my life.

And he was only, what, 35?

I learned "Rainbow Connection" this week! My wife came home Wednesday and I was playing guitar and she asked me if I sould learn it for her, so I looked up the chords and played it. Then later, I played it on my tenor ukulele, and it was even better. Then, OMG-the-cutest-thing-ever, my wife sang along in her bizarrely-accurate Elmo impersonation.

A friend from high school and I actually wore black armbands. (We were soooooo sensitive back then.)

I was sad too, but this is really well done.

Henson was 54 when he died. Still too young, of course.
