A Cinderella Story. The Dutch (!?!?!) eliminate the Dominican Republic, who were favored to win it all, from the World Baseball Classic. I think I'm seeing orange!

You think we'll see a rush of Dutch players signed to the majors if they win it all. The switch from steroids to wooden shoes would be kind of neat.

Hahaha gaspode, but hardly likely. I think it's in the blood, along with speed skating.

To give this a reference, this is like the Americans beating the Soviets in Ice Hockey in the 1980 Olympics, but I think the Dutch are even bigger underdogs here.

I'm always eager to coopt orange glory and any excuse to get drunk in my orange jacket (hi chillmost) will do. But to be honest: I didn't know about this. Nobody cares about honkbal. This is not big news here.
I understand we might end up playing against the US. That sounds like the stunt that South-Korea pulled in the voetbal world cup....

Hahah, of course I knew that gaspode. It would be entirely silly which is why I mentioned speed skating as well.

jouke, the fact that no one cares is what makes this so great. My relatives think baseball is completely incomprehensible. I hope they keep winning!

Cricket. Yeah, that's also a fringe sport in the Netherlands.

I'm glad our royal family is called 'of Orange' and not 'of Pink' or something like that.

I think they already lost to Puerto Rico.
But you'll always be able to wear the gear on Queens' Day. Maybe there's a Dutch comunity in Colorado who get together and dress up in orange on April 30th.
