Taz's Invalid Rice She was kind enough to share this with me on my flu thread and it's too good to keep to myself:[More:]Invalid Rice: boiled rice with a little lemon juice and olive oil. V. introduced me to this, and when I have stomach virus stuff, it's pretty much all I can eat except for plain crackers. Best with short grain rice, and instead of boiling the water then turning it down and steaming the rice, you just put the rice in with the water and boil it until the rice is done, adding a bit of olive oil and some fresh squeezed lemon juice before it's done. It comes out sticky/creamy and yummy, sort of like risotto. Whenever I'm sick and eat this, I think, "this is delicious; why don't I eat this all the time? From now on, I'm eating nothing but boiled rice with olive oil and lemon."

Ummmmm, that Olive oil and Lemon juice does sound like it'd be good. Taz, pass one here too if you can; I'm sure my doc would approve of this!

I made it with brown rice-takes awhile for it to be done but definitely worth the wait.

When we're ill, I make a sweet rice that's not too sweet. Just cook up a bit of rice and add some sugar and cinnamon if you like. I'll have to try this recipe though - sounds good!

404: Invalid Rice.

On first read, I was putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable

Triode,

I think you only get a 404 if the rice isn't found.

I always run my rice through a validator before I cook it. Uploading it onto the web is a hassle, though.
