Photo Friday : Pictures that show "The real you." Self-portrait or artsy pic.
This is a couple years old, but apart from some more grey...It's pretty close to what I look like today. I've got new glasses, but they are similar, just plastic and chunkier but still black. In the interim, my hair got longer, then I cut it quite short, and it's long again. I realized a while ago that my facial hair hasn't changed in over 20 years, but my hair cut changes all the time. I've had sideburns since I could grow them, and the imperial* has been around since...1992?
* That's the only term I like for the Frank Zappa under the lip thing
These are great. BoPo, that's always been my hands-down favourite photo of you, and jonmc those last two are classic. I've posted this one before, but the only (very very few) photos of me that I like are in a box on an island on the other side of the continent, so it'll have to do. It sums it up nicely, anyway, even if it is an old photo.
and from a couple of years ago, happy as a clam in my favourite country on Earth (so far), about to launch into one of the weirdest adventures of my life (involving: Tikal, narrowly avoiding bringing pot--unwittingly--over the Guat-Belize border, a sunset dispute with Guatemalan cab drivers & money changers, rum, a crack whore, a late night escape from the jungle, and a ridiculous amount of laughs in between and at the end to make it worthwhile):
crush-onastick: In Salem, Mass. melismata took the picture last weekend. I was worried about the angle of the sun on Samantha, but she got a great shot. That spot was also very windy and a bit cold.
Ooh, Lori, good call on the laptop photo-ing. I didn't have anything to upload because I generally run away from the camera. But this is the perfect "real me": Sitting on the couch, exhausted and bedraggled after a long week a work -- a photo captured literally seconds before I had to vault off the couch and sprint to the garage because the washing machine was overflowing and flooding the place. Real me, indeed.
What a great looking group of people you are! I don't have many pictures of me and this isn't a great one, but it was a memorable moment for me from last summer (at the end of a week-long hike).

urgh... I hate all photos of me, pretty much. Here's one that's neither arty, nor a self-portrait, and I'm looking all squinty and stuff, but I'm with V., and I'm happy, and that's the real me, so I'll go with this.
taz: Wow, what a good-lookin' couple! And Specklet, I've always loved that sun shot of you. dg, you look nothing like I pictured, but not in a bad way, though the speedboat photo is not far off ;) I *will* get to hang out with Eideteker one day.
