ObamaFilter: First Family Choosing A Portuguese Water Dog! →[More:]

For those not interested in weird dog breeds, or Obamafoam, please stay away from this thread.

I have to say, though, I'm overjoyed. My last dog was a Portuguese Water Dog, and they're the most amazing dogs on the planet. They're like four-legged Shakespeares.

I'm totally psyched about this!

The article mentioned trying to get one from a rescue. Yay for breed rescues! I've never worked in it day-to-day, but have provided love and laps for Great Dane, Whippet, and Cardigan/Pembroke Corgi rescue. I really hope they can get one from the Portuguese Water Dog Rescue folks.

I know they were saying allergies are an issue with one of the girls- is this one of those non-allergy breeds (like poodles and bichons?)
