The first single from "supergroup" Tinted Windows.
Ah. So this is what the Jonas Brothers are going to sound like when they grow up.

HELL NO! This song is one hundred percent win. It's pure summer, loud guitars and woah-oh-oh-oh for days.

You don't like this, man, you're trying too hard.

GREAT SONG. GREAT POST.

This sorta sounds like a Queers or Queers-imitator song. That's not necessarily an insult.

It sounds very Hanson to me- and not just because it's Taylor singing.

I like it, don't love it, but that could change on repeated listens. It definitely makes me want to hear the rest of the album.

Nice.
I always felt Fountains of Wayne were marred by their weak singer.

IMO, it's a cross between Hanson and a pre-Stacey's Mom FoW version of That Thing You Do. Nothing really new here which is what I was really hoping for when it comes to Adam Schlesinger. He's really stuck in a rut musically.

It's not bad but not very interesting. I think I was hoping for more of Iha's influence. And better lyrics. Maybe I'm just not cut out for this type of pop.

I'm bummed no one else in this thread likes this song as much as I do, especially YOU BoringPostcards.

This song makes me want to jump up and down and do something cool in slow motion.

what can I say, though? I loved MMM-Bop, Cheap Trick was the first-ever album I bought as a teenager, and I can't get enough of Fountains of Wayne.

I can't listen to this at work but I'll tune in when I get home. But surely the real version of the song will not compare to the awesome song I'm imagining based on all these comments!

It doesn't seem to be more than the sum of it's influences, which is fine but not what I'm looking for.

It's about what I expected after hearing about this in the previous thread where I was berated for badmouthing the bands these folks come from. It's basically over-produced least common denominator pop made in the mold that created American Idol. It'll get some airplay now, but we'll forget about it in a year.

If it wasn't put out by anyone famous (or formerly famous) it wouldn't even be getting blog time.

It's okay. Sounds very Cheap Trick-ish to me.

Paint by numbers songwriting.

What BP said, I'd like to hear more. I love the "i wasn't expecting the power-pop sound." comment. Really? From a line-up like that?

Isn't it possible to dislike a sound without insulting those that like it?
