23 February 2009

Hi, I'm sick and it's really depressing me [More:]I had an infection on February 1st, went to the doctor, got put on antibiotics. Three days in I know they're not working, finish the cycle. Go back to doctor. Get put on Cipro. Three days in I know they're not working, finish the cycle. Then get period. Can't test for infection again because period may cause false positive. Wait a half week, get tested again. Get put on 500mg twice a day of Cipro. That's today, February 23rd. I AM SO SICK OF BEING SICK. I feel crazy and depressive and sleep-deprived. Three weeks sleep deprived! I wish I was handling this better than I am. But antibiotic resistance is seriously one of my biggest fears in life. I am living my own stupid personal nightmare.

Will take sympathy, pity, and shared tales of woe!
Oh, man, I'm right there with you. Instant head cold from Younger Boy last week, nothing got done over the weekend. The sinuses act up on Tuesday, which leads to the inevitable chest cold, so nothing got done this past weekend. And boy what a weekend it was. Ask me how to get blueing off a linoleum floor sometime.

And now the bronchial infection. I'm on the second level drugs - Augmentin.

I managed to get the clothes clean and some food cooked, but the house - man I feel like I'm starting all over again.

Whenever I was in the hospital way back they had me on two antibiotics when I was there and three weeks after - Levaquin and something else. Started with a C. Clindamycin. Talk about an appetite killer.

*whuffles* Is there any way you can just curl up in bed with some yogurt and nice books and/or fluffy tv?

That's me. And I don't even have the excuse of being sick!

I have been super sick since Friday. Nose dripping, head hurting, coughing so hard I throw up sick. I called in sick to work Friday, but if I call in again tomorrow, I'll get fired. If I go in tomorrow, I'll just get yelled at. Hopefully.

Whuffles to all the other sick bunnies out there.

Poor us! I hope you guys feel better right quick.

Oh yes! I've been abusing the hell out of the sitting around and not doing anything. Sadly, at three weeks even that gets old.

Sorry, birdie - I understand how you feel. I recently had a cold or flu or something that just hung on and on, not terrible, but not ever allowing me to actually feel good - and then sort of migrated to my ear; I think I then went about two or three weeks with something that felt like a balloon of goopy liquid filling my ear. One day an hour or two after I woke up it suddenly dawned on me with a shock that the muffled, squishy grossness and pressure was gone. I had become so used to it that it seemed normal.

oh, and then looking up some historical figure in wikipedia, I read about someone dying from an abcess on the brain... caused by an ear infection. Excellent.

hugs to you, dear.

Air hugs to you sickies. (Not getting too close - those symptoms sound awful!)

Sending wuffles and warm soft blankies and soothing hot soups your way.

Whuffles. And orange juice. I was coming down with something serious on the weekend, and spent the day resting, and drinking 2 litres of o.j. Killed that mofo's ass. Still tired, but not actively sick. (Maybe I have just delayed it until my first day off.)

Oh man, me too. I was so sick at the end of January I missed a week of work - sickest, I said, that I'd pretty much ever been as an adult and that was after two weeks of just feeling fairly wretched but not quite sick enough to stay home. Then it got bad: a cold/flu thing that went on and on and on. I finally started feeling better three weeks later which is to say like last weekend and then, blammo, Friday I was home sick again and for the last four days I've been sicker than I was in January, running a high fever and unable to do anything. This bites. I'm on Ceflex, it's doing nothing.
