Podiatric Update. →[More:]As I mentioned, I've been out of the cast over a week now. After an MRI, the podiatrists seemed really eager to push a surgical procedure on us, which made us a little skittish. So we made a second appointment with an orthopedic surgeon in Manhattan who specializes in feet (I love my borough, but I've had lousy luck with Queens doctors. From here on out, I go Manhattan). The earliest we can see him is March 11, so I'm at home till then. The jobs taking care of me, although paperwork is slow, but thank God, i'm at a union shop. Now is not the time to be out of work. On the upside, it got me to quit smoking (almost two months! $600+ saved!) and at least I can go out of the house now.

Hey congrats on the non-smoker status! And, I suspect you're wise to check it out before someone wants to cut your foot open. UNLESS THEY ARE OFFERING TO MAKE YOU BIONIC. Cos, brother, that would be COOL.

I agree, check out all options before surgery. Congratulations on quitting smoking! That's a big accomplishment.

Part of getting a second opinion means that I had to stop by the medical imaging place and pick up a CD of my MRI images to give the new doctor. I haven't had the nerve to stick the disc in the drive and take a look. I mean, I've looked at pictures of myself naked and all, and that was fun, butthis'd be taking auto-pornography to a whole new level.
