It's not his first choice, but it's a good school (and good for him, I think). But having that in his back pocket makes it easier for him to reach out to those stretch schools.

yeah... that's right. I only gave one congratulation.

Doh! that's what I get for trying to type while on a call!

Totally. Such a good feeling to have one on the bag while waiting on the others.

We travel down to see Schreiner next Monday. Oh... and I probably should have put up a link to TWU as well.

Go son #2!

Where's son #1?

Awesome! My daughter goes to the other TWU, Texas Woman's University , and folks always ask "Is that Wesleyan, in FW?"

What does he want to study?

That's great news. Congrats.

Toastedbeagle- are you in north Texas, or just your daughter? My wife got her degree in '05 at UNT.

My son wants to study something music-ish. His preference would be composition but he realizes you don't make a living with that, at least not right away. So he will probably look at music ministry or music education (instrumental or choir) to pay the bills. He's a natural educator, in my opinion (just like his mom), so I think he's going in the right direction.

mykescipark: Son #1 is living at home. He went away to college in Iowa, it didn't work out, his confidence is damaged, and after a year off from life to "find himself" he is now taking classes at Tarrant Community College and working at a local sandwich shop.

We expcected #1 to skate through since he had straight A's in high school, and #2 to struggle since he started his education in full-time special ed due to cognitive processing problems and speech delay. Raising kids is like a box of chocolates, though- you never know what you're gonna get. ;- )

We were lucky; we got two good kids, even if they take a while to get where they're going.

It's all part of the journey, even sandwich shops.
