Stay-at-home Valentine's Day ideas? Anyone got any ideas for a couple who wants to stay home and avoid the craziness this weekend? Beyond renting movies, that is? [More:]

We might play a board game or two, but that could get tedious. And I don't think we're quite desperate enough to try strip Fluxx or Set yet.
We're making fondue! CHEEEEEEEEEESE!!!!!!!

We like to cook. Not for everyone, I know, but maybe you could try making an unusual dessert? Or FONDUE!

Bake bread! It's fun to cook something that takes a while and is warm and tactile like dough.

Any non-food ideas?

Make truffles together. Split the recipe in two and each of you can make something to surprise the other with. This, by the way, is how the Courvoisier-and-bacon truffle was born.

Duuuh ... it's Valentine's Day. You know, it's all about romance, lurrve, all that sort of thing. You know that, don't you? And you want ideas about what to do??

*sighs*

BAKE SOME HARDCORE TATERS.

Get 2 jars. Each partner gets a jar. Cut lots of strips of paper. Write down things that you like about your partner, fun memories, sexy stuff, etc on the papers. Fold and put in your jar (like a vote ballot!) until it is full. Exchange jars, have fun reading them.

Full body massages with oil and cheesy Enya music playing. Extra points if you both wear fake mustaches.

rmless, that gave me flashbacks to League of Gentlemen. *shiver*

Give each other manicures? Goofy flash games? Rap together and record it and send it to me?

If we do rap, it will be about how un-fresh your flow be, wimpdork. Talk about redefining Sucker MC!

I mean, dayum.

Make really tough scavenger hunts for each other, leading to a loveydovey little prize gift or card?

Because my partner works Saturday night, we're having a nice late breakfast together instead of dinner. Mmm, brunch!

When he gets home late Saturday night, I might surprise him with a simple chocolate-tasting plate, when he gets home: two or three ounces of different chocolates, coarsely chopped; a few different nuts and fruits, and maybe a not-too-sweet cookie.

Have you seen these conversation heart shortbread cookies?

I'm too shy to say this one out loud: a bath together, with candles and the nice soap and the hot water and the scented oils and the slippery.

Thanks for all teh suggestions! Keep 'em coming!

Make an awesome living-room fort. Use every pillow and blanket and cushion in the house. Make signs and secret passwords / handshakes for entry. Hole up and smooch the way the pagan love-fest taken over by the church likely intended.
