Photoshop Help? I just upgraded from CS2 to CS4. How do I import things like brushes, color swatches, etc to the new program from the old?
CF - do you know where the action & brush files reside? I'm not totally sure but on my mac it was just a simple act of going to the tool in question, clicking the little "more" arrow on the right, and going "import...". Damn, you're on a PC? Oh snap, I'm sure it's different then :(
i dono man. What I do is just keep a file in the "crap" folder on my desktop that's called "photoshop skilz" (yea super original). Into that folder is where I toss all my actions, brushes, kinky lomo and xpro flows and soforth.
so, y'know, when I tinker around in the guts of CS or upgrade from CS to CS3 (as I recently did) I just go point my new tools to the old actions folder. Then I go delete with impunity and all my special tchotchkies and dooflotchies stay put where they're supposed to.
I am similarly cavalier with Aperture, where I yoink the libraries into my own folders rather than allowing it to create random libraries whereverthehellitthinksitshould. but that's just how I roll, man.
DISCLAIMER: i am neither a computer guru, nor your computer guru. the above is the semidrunken ramblings of a macintard, thus your mileage may vary.
ATTABOY GUNGA DIN!!! DAMN THE TORPEDOES, FULL SPEED AHEAD! TAKE NO PRISONERS!
and lemme know how it all turns out, neh? Honestly if you're good about keeping track of where your plugin and actions files reside, there's (usually) very little fuckupery you will be able to incite.
