Your library loans laptops? That's pretty neat. I don't know if our branch does.

I do need to visit my library more often. I spend many dollars on paperbacks, audio books, and children's books. I feel guilty that I don't use it more often.

I was trying to guess, as the page loaded which library cliche they'd use for the headline. That said it's a positive, if "phoning it in" article.

We do, though we don't let people take 'em out of the buildings. It's more a response to having limited space for computer desks than anything.

And, while I don't think you should feel guilty, I agree that you should visit the library more often. We just got a neat book about tiny yarn animals.

I agree--positive, but phoning-it-in (and seemingly not proofread). Also, I'm wondering whether the photographer got releases for the patrons in the photos--at least one of those computer-lab dudes is something of a tinfoil-hat type).

One of the other libraries in my state, a couple years ago, printed up bumper stickers that say 'X County Library - Check It Out!' I cherish mine.

I think it's strange that the accompanying photo of library books also tells us actress Nancy Olson's age.

I think, though I'm not sure, that those are screencaps from the teevee.

God bless local news. Without Fox16, I'd never know whether those crappy infomercial products I'm not going to buy anyway work or not.

I think people should go to the library more. I made a sort-of-resolution not to buy any books this year (except with gift cards), and I'm really digging all the features our library system has - I can put a book on hold and they'll pull it from the shelves for me or send it from the big Central Library downtown, plus there are new automated scanner things so I don't even have to interact with a person anymore.

I'm pretty sure that news photographers don't need to if they're in public places.

It looks like a nice place. And yes, I bet you guys are busy - one of the local librarians was telling me the other day they've had an upsurge too. My town library is pretty teeny but lovely - however, LT belongs to the next-door city library which is fantastic, and is always coming home with amazing CDs, DVDs, graphic novels, and even books! They also have a bunch of passes to attractions and museums and suchlike.

I chuckled at "check out" too - so now I'm wondering what the other tired library cliches are? Like, "Library's Fine" if they get their budget approved? Or "Library Begins New Chapter"? ...

You're right, but we're only a semi-public place, and we only allow filming patrons with their consent.

Whether that policy would stand up in court, well, I've really got no idea.

Wow, it didn't make your employer sound crappy to me.
