I got to visit with Exene Cervenka yesterday! She needed to borrow a cello from me. She's in town here recording an album with this guy I'm in a band with. He is a magnet for working with artists with strong critic cred, as he has produced albums for the likes of Jonathon Richman and WILCO. →[More:]

So he calls me and asks if I could hook them up with a cello as her cello player didn't want to fly from L.A. with hers.

Man, did I get flustered.

Also, I am generally afraid of meeting people that I think are cool. Because, sometimes it turns out, they're not. So, I'm glad to hear a story of it going well!

No pickup. Studio work so it was mic'ed. She's recording a new album here. They'll be using some of keyboards next.
