Holy crap, today was weird... ..right in the middle of a busy day at work a woman runs in, screaming bloody murder, clutching her eyes and totally, TOTALLY hysterical..[More:]
turns out someone attacked her outside and maced her right in the face. It took forever for us to get her calmed down to figure out what the heck was happening...I still don't know what actually transpired to tell you the truth.

all that and a bazillion customers, too. Whew.
Holy crap.

Crazy! It was a strange day for me too. One of our teachers had a nervous breakdown after work and spent 45 minutes locked in the bathroom crying hysterically. Sigh. Special education is not for everyone.

Ow!

Eddies in the space-time continuum.

Eddy sure is in the space-time continuum:

I think I sold flowers today to about half those guys...

I swear there is something in the air at the moment. Craziness and stuff everywhere. There was a full moon this week, maybe that had something to do with it?

I called my friend in tears on tuesday - and I was the third friend to call her in tears that day, and she'd had a shitty day too.

I tell you, this thing is bigger than all of us!

My week has been oddly insane as well...maybe has to do with the full moon.

Eddy doesn't appear to be wearing any pants. That's quite disturbing.

'strue...full moon, mercury retrograde, aquarius rising...call it what you will. Things are shifting, and we are ill at ease.

It's the economy, dammit!
posted by Hugh Janus 11 February | 23:40
But what if the economy is just one more reflection of these deep ruptures in the fabric of the universe? What if we are on a swiftly tilting planet? What if someone stepped off the path and killed a small butterfly?

And what if I spent the wrong formative years reading science and fantasy fiction and can't shake the effects even decades later?

I blame Obama.

Wait.... I can still blame Bush for a while longer, can't I?

Hell, I've had N♂MAD tattooed across my face for several iterations of the past few years, including the one where I'm on fire and I jaunte through time to warn myself of my impending doom. I'm all like, "Vorga, I kill you filthy," and then there I am doing the impossible and waking up tomorrow morning for work.

Was this an attack in the sense of a mugging? Or some kind of personal thing? Or a random-crazy attack? Very creepy, no matter what it was. You be careful, yourself.

I agree about the time-space shift: a friend told me today that he was talking about tattoos to someone, and he mentioned that I have the Little Prince on my right arm.

So this person says, "oh yah? Isn't he an MC? Didn't he do that single with Jay-Z? Yeah, I remember him."

Doohickie: Usually I would say you could still blame a past president for the first 60 days, but in Bush's case, we may have to extend that into perpetuity. I don't think we know yet just how bad he did screw us up. Nixon pales before Bush.
posted by Ardiril 12 February | 10:50
I dunno, I mean Nixon did "open up" China, which doesn't look like such a good idea anymore. Oh, and he floated the dollar, another example of Republican short-term radicalism. But I think you're right overall; Bush and his believers have made hell on Earth available to more people, at home and abroad, than anyone since the infamous dictators of the Twentieth Century.

I've had a weird week too. Especially Tuesday night.

Plus it was 60 degrees, misty with light rain, which is West Coast weather, not Chicago weather at all. I called my friend and she was on the freeway circling the hill under Dodger Stadium, one of my favorite drives.

HJ: Your comment parallels with a thought I had just after posting. Bush was once a good man corrupted by power, while Nixon was an evil man who tried to use his power for good and often succeeded, but ultimately fell to his personal corruption.
