What are you NOT doing for Valentine's Day? With apologies to the partnered-but-don't-want-to-be folks.

For me, I hope go to somewhere and get kinda drunk. My birthday is on the Tuesday (the 17th) so I'll probably "celebrate" it Saturday when public intoxication is slightly more acceptable. There are also lots of shows and parties that night where I might see people I know.

But I have no plans. It's just as likely that I'll end up laying in bed with my computer and the TV on, eating marked-down holiday candy and weeping quietly.

Ugh. Saturday. So, I'll spend the morning volunteering, the afternoon getting my seeds started, and the evening will probably be in and on the computer.

Depends on how long my bother-in-law's sister is in town. If she stays through Saturday, she will probably welcome the chance to hang with someone outside their household. Otherwise, no plans here.

I work on Saturdays, so I'll be at work.

But after that, I'm going to a party thrown by my favourite local yarn store. My friend Natasha will be providing the music, and there will be booze.

I will probably stay home and avoid the things I normally do on a Saturday so I don't have to deal with all the v-day events. I cannot even go drink at my local bar (they have a special planned and just reading the details made me throw up a little).

So for me it'll be dinner at home, followed my a movie and some booze.

I'm not getting laid for Valentines day, thought that's not something new. Hmm, have I ever gotten lucky on Valentines day? I think not...

So, I'll just drink beer and make sawdust, and make like it's another day of the week.

Running around town with a bunch of people from out of state who are visiting for the weekend, showing them how much I love it here. Should be a lot of fun, with good food, company and drinks. The next day we hope to get up hungover and go to either Mt Hood or the coast, but we will see how late we stay out!

we've got a friend in from out of town. It did not occur to any of us that it was valentine's day until we were trying to figure out where to go for dinner on Saturday night.

I will not be feeling sorry for myself, and I will not be thinking of last Valentine's day. Nope. Rather, I hope to spend the evening with a couple of friends, maybe having a sleepover, hopefully playing ridiculous board games, etc.
